Wanda the Wonderful

Description

Wanda the Wonderful is a documentary about the true store of a 1920s era Wild West sharpshooter. Passionate and volatile, Wanda made mistakes that she spent the rest of her life running from. She joined the circus, was a stuntwoman in Hollywood, performed as a sharpshooter in Vaudeville and around the world, ended up as a 'dancing girl' at the brothel, then married a sheep rancher and found herself in the mountains of remotest Wyoming. This is a story of struggle, sacrifice and the American West; about what it means to forge your own way and the realities behind a glamorous and exciting lifestyle. This is a story about a mixed-blood Native American girl who took the one skill her father had taught her–shooting–and turned it into her livelihood and means of escape. A taboo subject to her family, Wanda leaves behind her a legacy of myth and mystery.
